Negligence is Behind Many Accidents at Theme Parks
Posted on Jan 19, 2011 under Leisure | 1 CommentHardly anyone goes to a theme park thinking about the bad things that could happen to them there. Instead their heads are filled with images of exciting rides and fun times with family and friends. They may dream of winning a huge stuffed animal or pigging out on park food or meeting their favorite theme park characters. But by denying the possibility that Theme park accidents happen, people actually increase their risk of being involved in one.
A large portion of accidents are the result of guest negligence. This is usually something as simple as visitors not paying attention to their surroundings and tripping over something or running into a solid object. For kids it can mean running into another child or even an adult and falling or tripping. Most of these accidents result in minor scrapes and bruises, but some people end up with major cuts, broken bones, or concussions .
Medical conditions are also a major source of accidents. Guests who forget their inhaler or medications can suffer asthma attacks or other reactions. More serious are those who ignore the warnings on rides and risk heart attacks, strokes, or other problems.
Ignoring, either through inattention or blatant disregard, the rules of the park are another source of guest injuries. Safety rules apply to everyone and those that think otherwise can find themselves in a hospital emergency room with no one but themselves to blame.
