Home Spa for therapy
Posted on Sep 28, 2009 under Leisure | No CommentAfter I had a minor auto accident I ended up with a lot of neck and back pain. The way I twisted when the two cars collided must be how it happened. After seeing a Dr. I was referred to a physical therapist. There I received massage therapy, some exercise therapy and hydrotherapy. The therapist would have me soak in a hot tub with the water jets focused at certain spots on my back. I would sit in the hydro therapy bath for about a half an hour. After the hydrotherapy bath I would be given a deep tissue massage to help realign the muscles and bones that were pulled out of place by the injury. After being in the hot tub my back would be so relaxed. The heat of the water alone was very soothing, that heat coupled with the messaging action of the water jets would make my back feel so good. The message that I got after the hydrotherapy would make me feel like a puddle. It was amazing how relaxing a half an hour in the hot tub and then a half hour deep tissue massage made me feel like there was nothing left in the world.
Now that the physical therapy is over I am really missing the hot tub soaking, i miss the message too but can only afford that now and then. But the hot tub, I found out that I could do something about that. Even tho I rent a house and would not be willing to pay for the installation of plumbing and electrical required for a conventional home spa, I certainly didn’t want to install one and leave it when I move. I found out that there are manufactures making portable spas. Requiring no special electrical or plumbing hook up. In a range of sizes and prices it seems like this would be a very good thing to do.
