Best Friends in Fort Wayne
Posted on Sep 15, 2009 under Travel | No CommentMy weekend was incredible and awesome, one I hope I will remember for the rest of my life. It began on Friday when work let us go only after 8 hours, which meant my girlfriends and I got to go home around 6 in the evening. I was planning on driving to Fort Wayne with two of my friends on Saturday and find a room at one of the hotels Fort Wayne offers without reservations, but since we got off work earlier than expected, we decided to head out that very night. The three of us got a hotel room about 11pm and spent the next few hours laughing at each other.
Barbara goes to Boston University, and Kathy attend Purdue, but she’ll be spending this next year in New York at Fashions Institute, which is an extremely competitive fashion program. The three of us have always been good friends ever since high school and it’s really hard to be moving away from each other, but it makes this ‘getting together’ a time much experience than we could have expected. We have had very different experiences in college from everything like friends to classes. But, it’s our non-school activities that give us plenty to talk about.
When we get our ‘what’s new’ out and over with, it’s time to be ourselves and that means laughing hysterically about all kinds of stupid things almost all night long. The next morning, we managed to get up early and find a donut shop and then go back to the hotel to get some sun out by the pool. The pool was too cold to swim in, so we decided to make our memorable time together permanent with a tattoo, but when we got to the tattoo parlor we chickened out and got pierced instead. Barbara got her cartilage done, Kathy got her belly done and I got my ears triple pierced. We were all still pretty chicken about the piercings, because we hadn’t done any since we were young, but we encourage ourselves and went through with them.
Then we headed to the mall. None of us wanted to buy anything in particular and before we knew it, our time was up together, so we all said our goodbyes, and knew it would only be a month before our next get together, so that made saying goodbye easy.
